10 important things to know about booking your wedding at The Meekermark.
Wedding Coordinator. Use of a professional wedding coordinator is required for all wedding events at The Meekermark. Choosing someone from our Preferred Vendor list is a reliable choice because we know and recommend these companies personally.
Alcohol: Bring your own or hire a bar service. If you bring your own, you still need to hire licensed servers and this can be included through our recommened caterers.
Food: Choose your own profesional caterer or choose from our licensed and properly insured catering professionals. Expect to spend $20/plate and up.
Guest count: The Meekermark will comfortably accommodate up to 225 guests.
Rental period: 12 hours including set up and clean up ending at midnight or before. Extra hours are available at an additional cost.
Security: One officer is required at all events. If alcohol is served, a minimum of 2 officers are required and must be present during all hours that alcohol is served. You will need one officer for every 100 guests. We hire them for you and you pay them at the end of the evening.
Tables & Chairs: We provide and set up all the tables and chairs for your reception and ceremony. We have a selection of round and rectangle tables that seat 8-12 guests as well as 4 eight-foot custom-made farmhouse tables. Set up and tear down of tables and chairs is included.
Accommodations: The best: Westin Woodlands or Embassy Suites Woodlands. Really good: Residence Inn or La Quinta in Tomball. We have personally stayed at all of these hotels. They are within 20-30 minutes of the The Meekermark.
Photography: The Meekermark was designed and built by wedding photographers. Meeker Pictures has photographed hundreds of amazing weddings in the last 15 years! Our best recommendation is to choose us if we are available! We have a fun and experienced photo team plus you can bundle and save a little money too. If you have another favorite photographer, that’s fine also.
Vendor Selection / Insurance: The Meekermark can only allow properly insured professional venders to provide services at our property. Written proof of insurance and release of liability documents must be submitted by vendors prior to their work at The Meekermark. Our insurers require this of us and so we must pass this requirement along to our couples that wish to get married at The Meekermark. To make things easier for you, all of our preferred vendors already have the required documents on file with us which makes your planning process easier. Please make certain that your vendors are properly insured PRIOR TO BOOKING THEM to avoid the chance of having to make last minute substitutions and the potential loss of your deposit. The following vendor categories must have liability insurance: caterers, bartenders, bakers (cake), decor companies, DJ’s or live bands and videographers. Event hosts (that’s you!) must also purchase event insurance to cover their own liabilities on the day of their event. Event insurance recommendations are on our web site. All insurance requirements are designed to minimize everyone’s potential liability in the event of a mishap. The more insured vendors you hire, the more protected you are as the host.
